2025 ABC Registration is Open

The 2025 ABC Is Coming! Please Join Us May 17-18

Delegate Registration Has Opened

Dear ACA Meetings, Intergroups, Regions, Delegates and Observers,

Registration has opened for the May 2025 ABC  for the 2025 Annual Business Conference (ABC), which will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18, from 9 am to 5 pm eastern US, on Zoom. The deadline for signing up is May 12. Everyone must register, even if you have been a delegate in the past. The online registration form can be found at https://adultchildren.org/conference.

To our 2024 delegates, thank you for your service to the ACA fellowship over the past year. ACA World Service grew in many ways because of your participation. Rapid progress has been made in making the Conference more welcoming, inclusive, and effective in soliciting the group conscience. You truly have served as the voice of the fellowship, providing invaluable guidance to the ACA World Service Organization.

Now it’s time for new delegates to register and for returning delegates to re-register to attend the 2025 ABC.

  1. All delegates must be selected by a registered ACA meeting, intergroup, or region.  Even if you attended the 2024 delegate meetings, it is important that you reaffirm your selection as a delegate for your group before re-registering.
  2. All new and returning delegates must submit a new online registration no later than May12.  The registration form is located at https://adultchildren.org/conference. Registrations for prior delegate meetings will not be valid.
  3. Any non-delegates may listen to the ABC as observers and may fill out the observer registration form at any time. Information is available at https://adultchildren.org/conference.

Please volunteer to serve in other roles. The Annual Business Conference and Quarterly Delegate Meetings (QDMs) belong to the delegates. All members of the fellowship are invited to consider volunteering for service at the ABC, QDMs and/or participate as a member of the ABC Committee, which helps plan and support these meetings.

We currently need volunteers for the ABC to fill roles such as meeting timer, tech support, information assistant. Experienced volunteers are sought to serve as a Conference chair or secretary. To volunteer for the ABC, please email us at abc@adultchildren.org or attend an ABC planning meeting on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, 12:30pm Eastern US.  Information is on the WSO Committees Calendar – acawso.org/committees-calendar/

Stay informed. Your group will get regular updates by email, and information will be available on the https://adultchildren.org/conference website.  Since the last ABC, the page has been redesigned to make it easier to find the information you need, including the meeting agenda and background resources on issues that will be discussed. You also can check the WSO Slack communication platform.

Delegate training events and a more social Delegate Connections event are planned. Delegates will be informed once the exact event dates are set.

Thank you again for your participation. Please join us on May 17 and 18 at the ABC. Your voice ensures our world fellowship will flourish and be sustainable.  Email us at abc@adultchildren.org if you have any questions.

The 2025 ABC Ballot of Proposals

January 21, 2025

Dear ACA Group Contact,

The 2025 ABC Ballot of Proposals will be published on January 22nd and will be available on the Ballot Prep Committee website https://acawso.org/bpc/ and the Conference website https://adultchildren.org/conference/.  Voting on the Ballot will then open on February 15th.

ACA World Service received 13 Proposals in response to the Request for Proposals sent to all groups (meetings, Intergroups and Regions) in August. These Proposals were reviewed by the Ballot Prep Committee, who worked with the Proposing groups to help ensure clarity. The WSO (the Board and appropriate Committees) then added an analysis for each one.

The Proposals, now collectively referred to as the Ballot,  are made available for all groups who wish to participate in the voting process. Your group is asked to review and discuss the Ballot Proposals and to submit your group conscience vote on the Ballot form between February 15th and April 7th.

Each Proposal that receives 66.7% ‘Yes’ votes from responding groups will be added to the 2025 ABC agenda for discussion.

This year we are grateful to the translation teams who have made it possible to be able to present the Ballot in Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

To prepare for this voting, please download a copy of the Proposals from our website:  https://acawso.org/bpc/.  Other pertinent information will also be posted on that page. Note: We apologize that there is a delay in preparing some of the translated documentation, so if the document in your language is not posted, please check back soon.

The direct link for voting will be available on February 15th, both on the Ballot Prep website page https://acawso.org/bpc/ and the Conference website https://adultchildren.org/conference/

As mentioned above, voting on the Ballot will close on April 7th. Voting results will be published on April 10th.

To aid your group’s discussion, the following four Q&A Ballot Proposal Presentations (Town Halls) have been scheduled:

  • Saturday, February 8th at 9 pm EST
  • Sunday, February 9th at 9 am EST
  • Friday, February 21st at 9 pm EST
  • Saturday, February 22nd at 9 am EST

During these presentations, the Proposal submitters will have the opportunity to give more information about their Proposals and attendees will be able to ask questions. These meetings will be recorded and made available on our website.

Please email the committee at bpc@adultchildren.org if you have questions.

Thank you for your participation in helping to shape the future of ACA.

Honoring ACA’s Birthday Together

Honoring ACA’s Birthday Together

Dear Fellow Traveler,
In January we celebrate ACA’s 47th Birthday, honoring the community that has helped so many of us on the path to recovery. It’s a moment to reflect on the shared journey we’ve taken together—a journey of healing, growth, and connection.
As we mark this annual occasion, we’re reminded of the countless lives that have been touched by ACA’s message. For many, this community has been a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration.
While traditional therapy often comes at a significant cost, ACA offers a unique community and tools for healing without financial barriers. This vital work, however, depends on the ongoing generosity of our members.
If ACA has been a meaningful part of your journey, we invite you to join us in honoring this tradition by considering a contribution. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure ACA’s programs and resources remain accessible to all who seek recovery.
Make Your Gift Today

Whether or not you choose to give, we are grateful for your presence in this community. Together, we continue to light the way for those who are just beginning their journey.
With gratitude,
Your ACAWSO Team
P.S. Contributions to ACA help us provide critical resources and support for adult children worldwide. If you feel inspired, we’d be honored by your support.

Uppdaterad info från ACA WSO angående BRB

Dear ACA Fellowship,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide an update regarding the memo sent on July 2nd regarding counterfeit BRB’s being sold worldwide.

I am pleased to inform you that ACA WSO has successfully worked with Amazon to remove the known sellers of the counterfeit BRB’s. We are deeply grateful to those who alerted us to these online sellers as soon as they became aware of them. You can now confidently purchase our books through Amazon by ensuring the author and publisher listed is Adult Children of Alcoholics World Service Organization (or ACA WSO) and the ISBN numbers match the ones marked as authentic below.

To identify whether you have purchased a counterfeit BRB, simply check the back cover for the correct ISBN number on the barcode. Authentic BRBs have the following ISBN numbers:

  • Authentic Hardcover  ISBN 978-0978979706
  • Authentic Softcover ISBN 978-0978979782

The Counterfeit BRBs have the following ISBN numbers:

  • Counterfeit Hardcover ISBN: 978-9192874224
  • Counterfeit Softcover ISBN:  978-8940473641

As previously mentioned, this incident has had a significant financial impact on ACA due to tens of thousands of dollars in pirated sales, and has harmed the reputation of our branded intellectual property. To address these issues, your World Service Organization has engaged an Intellectual Property Legal Firm to recover lost revenues resulting from this infringement. Our attorneys have filed a lawsuit in the United States Federal Court against the primary distributor and approximately twenty anonymous individuals, who will be identified during the discovery phase of the lawsuit.

If you have inadvertently purchased one of these counterfeit books, we encourage you to attempt a return. If returning it is not feasible due to time constraints, please notify us via email at info@acawso.org and attach your receipt for the book. ACA WSO is committed to assisting those who have received a counterfeit book that cannot be returned by providing a replacement.

Once again, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown support for ACA WSO as we address this significant issue. Please let us know of any sellers you come across still selling counterfeit books.

Telefonkonferens European Comittee

Dear European ACAs,
With a summer quIckly approaching, a loving reminder about an upcoming European Teleconference that is easy to remember – it will happen on the 1st of June. The agenda attached in this letter is still in flux and is a living and changing document here, so let us also check back before the Teleconference itself; one of the themes that is worth celebrating are the decisions voted for at our 2024 ACA Annual Business Conference, where delegates gathered, and some decisions will still be decided or implemented soon – like new literature and the important news about the name change (extension) of the fellowship. Let us meet and discuss them!

I have also received questions about the dissemination of info about ACA events in Europe and helping IGs / meetings with their business, but for that your help is needed as well – let us hear from each other and meet on
June 1st
13:00 London time
14:00 Central European Time
15:00 Helsinki / Baltics
(codes are in the document to avoid zoom bombing)

With love and thankfulness to you all,

Edmundas V.
